Inspiring Young Classical Musicians in the San Francisco Bay Area

YAF aims to offer an exemplary pre-college performing arts education in the San Francisco Bay Area. We believe in cultivating the next generation of great young minds through high achievement in classical music. By hosting public performances, masterclasses, and lectures in numerous communities, we seek to someday transform the cultural landscape of the bay area into not only a technological center, but a cultural hub for fine arts.

Why Classical Music?

The Behaviors of Universal Excellence taught through Achievement in Classical Music

A successful classical musician is one who has mastered not only the stage, but the behaviors for a lifetime of excellence from an early age. Only through countless hours of diligent practice, focus, self-reflection, and refinement, an accomplished musician comes out the other side with discipline, creativity, and resilience - Qualities that translate well to success in almost any field.

Join us below in our interview with Doris Li, a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, who completed a dual degree in Cello Performance and Computer Science, as she reflects on her past musical education and present career in software development.

YAF has the distinct honor to work with many faculty and guest artists who are themselves not only accomplished musicians, but have simultaneous careers in other professions such as technology, finance, and entrepreneurship. Our program creates environments for our students to receive regular face time with such top achievers, providing them with a unique and unparalleled level of guidance towards future success, no matter what paths they choose.
